HOW FAR ARE YOU?

Should I come so close to you
that our breaths could touch each other?
Or should I keep myself a little far
such that I can feel your fingers
only if I stretch my hand a bit?

Should we walk such that
the silhouttes of our bodies befall as if one?
Or should we move together,
but in parallel lines through the farthest points on the diameter of vision?

Should I be next to you
when you sit in the darkness
distilling the bitter wine from memories?
Or should I leave you alone
in the corner of your moonlessness?

To the fissured solitary island of yours
should I extend a brook of words?
Or should I nosedive
into the depths of my own floods?

Should I offer you my hugs
and get myself thorned and blemished all over?
Or should I only cherish the bounty of flowers,
Your rains bestow upon me?

Should I let my soul sprawl
the lows and highs of its febricity onto yours?
Or should I tame my idea of togetherness
into the mere embraces of amorous fleshes?

Should I invite you again to be the journal
on which my blacks and whites get deplaned?
Or should I keep them hidden
and locked in my coverts?

Should I travel the miles from me to you,
searching for a fount of love again?
Or should I etch out a secluded byway
and tread on, lugging the elicited ugly truths in bundles?

And if so,
Should I fancy on a Shangri-la somewhere
at the end beside you?
Or should I throw those reveries too in the bale
And just go on and on
through this endless labyrinth!!?
