Classical Dancer

Kalamandalam Swapna Sajith, A well known classical dancer based at Kozhikode was born to K.C. Appu Nair and Santha on 15th April 1977. Since the last 18 years she has been actively involved in dance performances and teaching as well. She was trained in classical dance at Kerala Kalamandalam and her teachers then were Kalamandalam Haimavathi and Kalamandalam Leelamma. Besides she was trained by Guru Chemancheri Kunjiraman Nair, Pushpalatha and Lathika. Some of her main composes are “Ramanan”, “Kanaka Chilanka”, “Rithukkal” and “Sree Krishnan”. She has participated and conducted various workshops in Mohiniyattam and Kuchippudi. Her achievements includes the” DR. K.N.Pisharody Medal” and the “Best Teacher Award” instituted by Bharatheeya Vidya Bhavan.
